The Planet Mappers
〈별을 쫓는 사람들〉은 1955년에 처음 출간된 미국 작가 에드워드 에버렛 에반스의 공상과학소설이다. 우주 개척자 테드 카버에 대한 이야기로, 그가 가족과 함께 식민지 건설에 적합한 새로운 행성을 찾아 나서는 모험담이다. 지도를 만드는 사람이라는 뜻의 영문 제목의 Mappers라는 단어에서 시작하여, 디자인을 위해 지도의 형식과 등고선에서 요소를 가져왔다. 이야기가 진행될 수록, 책의 페이지들이 쌓여 등고선을 이루고 점차 지형이 생겨난다.
The Planet Mappers is a science fiction by American author Edward Everett Evans first published in 1955. It is a story of space pioneer Tad Carver, the adventure of finding a new planet suitable for colonial construction with his family. Based on a word of the title, Mappers meaning people who create maps, it brought elements from the form and contours of the map for design. As the story progresses, pages of books accumulate, forming contours and gradually creating terrain.
