2018 홍익대학교 시각디자인과 졸업주간의 소제목은 ‘Ms. John & Mr. Jane’이다. 전시에 참여하는 학생들의 작업과 이름, 연락처 이외의 불필요한 정보들을 배제하고, 그동안 수학한 작업 그 자체로서 먼저 자신을 드러내길 바라며 구상한 주제다. John과 Jane은 익명의 사람을 지칭할 때 사용하는 이름이다. 성별을 제외한 다른 정보는 드러나 있지 않은 John과 Jane에, 일반적 인식과는 서로 뒤바뀐 호칭을 부여하여 성별을 포함한 모든 정보가 모호한 동시에 모든 전시 참가자를 대표하는 인물로서 표현하고자 했다. Ms. John & Mr. Jane은 전시 참가자 전부이자 그 누구도 아닌 인물로서 졸업 전시에서 주목받아야 할 학생들의 작업을 안내하는 안내자의 역할을 한다.

The subtitle of Hongik University Visual Communication Design Graduation Week 2018 is ‘Ms. John & Mr. Jane’. It is a topic titled in order to exclude any unnecessary information other than the work, name, and contact of the students participating in the exhibition and hope to solely reveal the students’ works. John and Jane are the names used to refer to anonymous people. Since only gender information is provided in these names, the exhibition changed Ms. and Mr. followed by each name to create a totally ambiguous figure to represent all the exhibitors. However, being no one at the same time, Ms. John & Mr. Jane is a guide of the exhibition showing students’ works that deserve to be focused.
